I graduated in 1996 from the University of Lyon with a Ph.D. in organic chemistry on the extraction of radioactive cesium from radioactive waste using functionalized crown-ethers and calixarenes. Subsequently, I joined the Department of Chemistry at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Cnam) as a postdoctoral fellow. I develop new ligand platforms for MRI contrast agents and Actinides/Lanthanides separation. In 1998, I was appointed assistant professor at the CNAM. In 2001, I moved back my research activities to the University of Lyon at the Institute for Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry (ICBMS). My research activities at ICBMS focus on sustainable chemistry, atom economical strategies and separation science. In 2011, I joined the Laboratoire de Génie des Réacteurs Catalytique (LGPC) now Laboratory of Catalysis, Polymerization, Processes and Materials (CP2M). I am co-author of 107 publications and 14 patents.
After having been involved for 15 years in the field of separation (liquid/liquid and solid/liquid extraction, nanofiltration, cloud point extraction), my research interests now focus on the field of catalysis. My interests in this field range from developing practical synthetic methods for organic chemistry and elucidation of mechanistic pathways to advanced flow reactors for mass or heat transfer demanding reactions. Mechanistic studies include the preparation of key catalytic intermediates and investigating their fundamental reactivity through kinetic studies, spectroscopic methods (EPR, in-situ FTIR, ex-situ NMR), high-level DFT computations.

My teaching activities take place exclusively in Paris at the “Conservatoire national des arts et métiers” (Cnam). The Cnam was created by the Convention in 1794 (décret du 19 vendémiaire an III), on the proposal of Abbé Henri Grégoire, to "improve national industry ". From the outset, the institution was designed to disseminate technological innovation, scientific knowledge and promote the creative spirit.
The CNAM is the only higher education establishment dedicated to life-long professional training. In this context, I teach general chemistry at undergraduate level in evening classes to professionals looking for additional training, wishing to update their knowledge, improve their skills or acquire a diploma. I am in charge of seven different teaching units of the Licence's degree in Science and Technology of the Cnam.
