The aim of the DISCOVER project is to develop effective synthesis of metallic nanoparticles in solution. These nanoparticles are obtained by controlled decomposition of metallic precursors in presence of stabilizing ligands.
These noble and non-noble metal nanoparticles are also used as catalysts in several reactions with high industrial potential (C-C coupling and hydrosilylation of alkenes).
The developement of catalysis with nanoparticles could decrease the consumption of rare and expensive metals (Platinum and Palladium) for the industrial partners of this project and reduce their environmental footprint.
