Monsieur Clément CAMP, Chargé de Recherche CNRS at the CP2M was awarded the 2022 CNRS Bronze Medla for his research on surface organometallic chemistry and catalysis

Congratulations to Clément for this disctinction!!

Clément Camp carried out his undergraduate studies at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) in Lyon and obtained his PhD in chemistry from Joseph Fourier University, in Grenoble. He then joined the CNRS in 2015, after a postdoctoral stay at the University of California, Berkeley (USA). Two years later, he obtained funding from the CNRS-MOMENTUM program, which allowed him to expand his research in surface organometallic chemistry. His idea was to combine two metals with very different reactivity at the surface of a material. To meet this challenge, Clément Camp is developing new innovative methodologies for the synthesis of metal couples. He then studies the behavior of the bimetallic catalysts thus obtained in order to exceed the reactivity of the initial metals taken individually. He has discovered new mechanisms for the cooperative activation of C-H bonds and CO2. His work contributes more generally to the emergence of a family of promising catalysts for the synthesis of chemicals of fundamental and industrial interest. He recently obtained an ERC Starting grant to pursue his investigations in this field.
