My PhD is part of the MSCA-HINA project and I am working under the supervision of Pr. Stephane Daniele. The aim of this work is to develop various molecular precursor models through strategic modulation of the coordination sphere of K, Nb and Ta derivatives, with emphasis on alkoxides and alkyls. The aim of this molecular engineering study is to create a 3D, predominantly monomeric architecture that possesses the volatility and thermal stability for efficient transport, while remaining reactive enough to degrade cleanly on the support. One of the options being explored is to develop heterometallic K-Nb and K-Ta compounds with a 1:1 stoichiometry, which will then be tested for DLI-CVD deposition of piezoelectric films.
